In my workout it says to do pull ups. I can't do any pull-ups on my own, so I use a machine. Will this give me the same results and what can I do to help me do pull-ups on my own faster????

What!? You ladies don't do pull ups in the Corps!? Hmmm...

All kidding aside, I think that once you begin to increase your upper body strength, you'll be able to do pull ups on your own. Try varying your grip (wide, over hand, under hand, etc.)...I find that this makes a difference.

No it's okey to use a machine in the beginning (I wish I had that one in my gym!)
You can also try to work negative (or excentric): help (and cheat) with your feet to get up and then slowly control the way down.
Luck to you.
