I've heard other people talk about it and today it happend to me. I'm not sure why it happend.

I got up and had a yogurt to start my day and then headed off to the gym. I usually drink about 12oz of water on the way to the gym, 25oz during workout, and 12oz on my way home. Is that too much? Only thing I could think of that could have been upsetting. *shrug*

While working out I felt it was one of my best. I added weight on my incline sit ups with 5 and 10 pound plates on my chest. Made it through all my incline bench reps (barely) and did great on dips. I was getting more tired than usual from the increased weight and such. I also did squats at the end but kept the weight light because my legs were tired for some reason.

When I got back home I started to feel sick and thought maybe my protien shake may help. Maybe my body needed something more. About 5 mins after that I hurled up everything. It was a lot of fluid, making me think maybe the water was too much. But thats what I've been drinking before and didn't have this problem before.

What do you think?

Typically puking during or after a workout, especially one where you add to your weight, is due to a build up of acids in your muscles. The throwing up is you're bodies way of trying to purge it. Though I'm sure if you were feeling ill the shake probably didn't help :)

I'm sure it didn't. I know protien shakes can upset a stomach anyway. I'm sure I would have puked anyway I just HATE it so I was trying anything to prevent it from happening.

Good to know about the acid build up!

Red bull or taurine/caffeine drinks. These do it to me if i have one before a workout and usually have come with a pressure headache...

I wondered if it is foods or the intense training whilst trying to digest food that's strong in carbs or protein??

my last food a good hour and a half before the gym is mostly fish protein in a light sandwich now and constant water consumption. I don't feel sick with that. Then make sure you shove protein in yer after the workout.

ok i was wondering if it is really bad on your heart to not warm up and cool down.
Cause this is kina freaking me out. I went out and ran for like 10 minutes before i worked out, and i
did not have any energy to workout, I could only lift for like 10 minutes! Anybody
know what someone overweight could do for cardio before and after workouts without wearing me out
too much? I mean i know you gotta work it like hell but i was exausted,

Sometimes an overproduction of endorphines can cause severe nausea, or it could be a build up of hydrochloric(stomach) acid. This happens to me on occasion, especially if I take too long off from the gym and come back too intense. If it continues, then there's cause for concern.

maybe the yogurt went sour on your stomach similar to how milk can do some people when they work out

I usually feel nauseous toward the end of my lifting work outs- but only the really hard work outs with my trainer. It's not as bad as when I first started but it's still there. I've been to the doctor and my health is excellent: so when this happens I take a 3 minute break where I lay down on the mat and just relax and catch my breath. I'm fine after that. If you're feeling icky during your work out or after- this may help.

ugh, it's been tough since that post. I've felt nauseous after almost every work out since. Today was the same work out as the last one that made me sick and it's worse today. It's my chest and tricep day that seems to make me the most sick. I felt sick during the work out so I didn't push as hard as I did last time.

Routine is:

Inc Bench, Dips, Flies, French Press, decline sit ups with weights on my chest.

I wonder if its the sit ups that are getting me sick the most. Being on the decline bench and contracting the stomach so hard. *shrug*

I'll try to cut out the morning yogurt too, suggestions for replacment morning meal? Oatmeal?? Also, should I get up earlier to eat? Right now I get up at 6:30 and I'm at the gym by 7:10. Maybe get up at 5am eat and go back to bed for a hour and a half?

While were on the subject of eating I need some ideas for stuff to eat before bed.
