I have heard that the body can only handle 30-40 grams of protein at a time(per meal) but I keep seeing people talking about meals with 60-70 grams at a time. Eat 6 meals a day and with 40 grams each thats only 240 but according to some website i should be eating 2g per lb bodyweight so thats 340 grams but with 40 grams per meal thats only 240. so is it ok to eat 60-70 or will that just be wasted protein?

The general rule is 1-1.5g of protein per body weight.

each body is different. the average is actually about 50g, but, again, it varies with the individual and their regimen. the 2g/lbs of body weight is basically for very hardcore athletes who work out with incredible intesity. and with the addition of certain pharmeceuticals, the body is able to handle that level of protein intake, plus much more.
