Alright people,

I must get back into shape by the middle of August. I have a long term ankle problem in my right ankle and since I've not been able to train I've put on a lot of body fat. I weigh 14 stone, and for the Americans I believe there is 14lbs in 1 stone.

I have a lot of fat on my thighs, stomach, and gluteus, and am starting to get flabby pecs. I am going to begin a hard routine of training soon as I need to get back in the ring for my martial arts and wrestling in late August.

That gives me just over 2 months to lose weight, cut back up, and all while being kind to the ankle. I am just wondering if yuo guys could suggest a bit of a routine for me. I have a bit of one sorted but am always open to ideas and to see what I find effective.

I will be running, but not all the time as my ankle will hurt...maybe I should start using the bikes a lot? Any suggestions. I'd like to lose 1 and 1/2 stone (21lbs?) Please help...

Hmmm. What did you do to your ankle? And can you consult a Doc?

Well mozza sounds like you need pool training. I used to be a runner, and when you get injured, you have to low impact training. So you get a bouancy belt, go to the deep end and run in place. You might look weird but it works. Do this for 40mins, 4 days a week. Your ankle will be none the wiser. sean......

Hi, I broke my ankle 2 years ago and never managed to get it properly treated. I recently went for an X-Ray and am just waiting to see what can be done.

Swimming sounds good...just how much should I do, and what types of strokes etc?

3-4x per week should be good. What type of strokes? Whatever helps to get your heart rate up!

And do you suggest I do this straight after my weight training?

You can...or you can do it at another time of day. You may not have enough energy left to do this after hitting the weights.
