A quick question: I typically do my cardio in the evening, but today I decided I wanted to do it in the morning. Well, I got up and had no energy!!! Then I got the worst stomach craps and my stomach still hurts. They bothered me so bad that I had to cut my cardio time down. Has anyone had this happen to them and what is going on?
**Some how I posted this in the wrong sections..so I apologize for the confusion.

Did you eat anything first? You should always have some type of "meal" especially first thing in the morning to get out of a catabolic state from the overnight fast, and to help counteract a more catabolic state created by cortisol from cardio and thus muscle wasting.

Hey ashten99,
I've tried morning cardio before and had the same thing happen to me. Stomach cramps. I read that it is lack of water / food that early in the morning. I'm sure there are recommendations on what to eat/drink when, but I'm not too sure on that since I gave up early morning exercise.
Good Luck, Roberta

Unfortunately, no I did not eat anything. I want to burn the most calories. I have heard conflicting reports as whether to eat or not eat. I might try dry oats with just a tad of applesauce before I run. Do you have any better suggestions because I still feel crappy? :(

Have a small carb/protein meal, even an MRP would suffice. You will have some "fuel" for your body and be out of a catabolic state. Give it about 1/2 hour, and hit the cardio of your choice. A piece of fruit with it would be good too. Then afterwards a good thing would be a protein drink with some fiber and some fats (flax seeed for fiber is good and flax oil for fats is good)about 1/2 hour later, as not to interfere with the fat burning process. Then have your regularly scheduled meal later.
