Is it true that for about an hour post-workout, you can pretty much eat anything you want, guilt free, because your metabolism is so high at that point?
There is a Jamba Juice around the corner from the new gym I just joined, and I figured I could get a juice after my workouts, with protein and fiber, of course. However, i won't do it if it's going to have a negative effect on my diet.

If trying to gain, then this is an excellent time to have a 'good' meal. In fact if you are going to have something 'sweet', this would also be a good time, or as you know any white stuff like a potato, etc. As this is still a time when insulin surge will not make much difference. When bulking, I normally have my protein shake, followed by my next meal of what some consider junk, like a baked potato or even an ice cream with that meal.

lol i bet there alot of happy people reading this. Say u could get enough protein and some carbs would the actual quality of the food help you anymore. Say from a steak and chips to say chicken and brown rice. As long as you were getting right amount of each thing would it make much difference to do with the quality??? hope that made sense:laugh:

The 'clean food police' may arrest you on the spot. Seriously, after a grueling workout, if bulking, most anything is fair game. I shoot for protein, but then enjoy whatever at this meal. The rest of the day I am line with the police mentioned above.

I'm trying to cut and get lean muscle, and after I usually drink a protein and about 30-60min later will eat a piece of fish or a small meal. Is that good? Should I try to eat more fruit/veggies right after work out or at any specific time?
