How much protein should i eat after a work out. Right now i eat a protein bar (24 grams) and a can of tuna fish (40 grams) is that enough. Also, can you take too much, like your body wont be able to absorb it in time. my goal is to gain muscle mass. right now im about 5'11 180lbs if that matters.
The amount of protein sounds okay, but the sources could be better, like whey (great for post workout!). And don't forget to take sufficient carbs along with the protein to replenish glycogen stores and help spare muscle tissue.
As far as too much protein goes: every body is different. Do not buy into the "Only 30g can be absorbed at any time" bull.
