Hi, just starting on a new diet that goes like this. Just briefly I'll give you the facts, I'm 20, male about 5'10" weigh 165lb. I used to weigh about 150 and had a good body, but the only weight increase over the last year has been fat. So, I'm aiming to loose about 15lb or so.

So here's how my day goes:

Breakfast: Sardines in tomato on toast - 236 cal, 10.5 fat, 21.4 protein, 13.7 carbs

11 o'clock snack: Salad with tuna - 246 cal, 5.3 fat, 41.4 protein, 1.1 carbs

Lunch: Chicken, beans & carrots - 157 cal, 2.9 fat, 20.1 protein, 13.9 carbs

Dinner: Curried chicken (no rice) - 275 cal, 6.4 fat, 24.4 protein, 23.7 carbs

And so my total count for the day is: 937 cal, 25.1 fat, 110.9 protein, 52.4 carbs.

I'm going to be doing cardio at least 4 times a week, frist thing in the morning. I heard that doing cardio on an empty stomach causes the body to burn the calories stored as fat in your body, rather than to burn off the calories you've just eaten. This seemed to make sense to me but can anyone confirm this? Thanks alot,

Sash

I copied that cause I could not believe it! 937 cals for the day? that is not enough by far all you will do with 4 days of cardio is lower you metabolism and store fat and loose muscle. I would suggest you look up the post stickyed about cardio by BB1fit. YOu need to eat to loose I know that sounds funny but it is true. AS for cardio on a empty stomach that is not totaly true. Again read that post from BB1fit. It explains a lot.

Ok, thanks, well it did strike me as being a little low. How about if I bump that up to 1429 calories, 46.1 fat, 153.7 protein, 79.8 carbs

That would be by eating 2 more sardines on toast. And if I did only cardio 3 times a week?

Thanks.

Sounds a little better but 1429 is still low are you male or female most males and feemale that are as active as you plan to be need at least 2000 for men and at least 1700+ for women just to maintain their lean mass.
