Hi,

I am 35 yrs old, 140lb, I feel I am in my best physical shape. The price I am paying is the loose skin at my tummy area...not fat (due to two c-sections within 18 month period). My surgery for my "tummy tuck" (and muscle repair) is on Nov 19. In the meantime (the question is coming), my workout regime has hit a plateau (Bad timing). My question (finally) being that I only have three weeks to be tip top...would you suggest circuit training/strict low carb diet? Remember I am going to be laid up a while, able to maybe slow walks for 2-6 weeks....so I guess trying to get a 'head start' Plus, the Plastic Surgeon recommends lowest or preferred weight for best overall results......in a nutshell....any suggestions on maximizing my daily workouts in preperation for upcoming surgery

Thanks Buffy

I worked private duty with plastic surgery patients and I must prepare you for some major pain but no worse than the C-section you went through. You probably have a scar from the C section so you won't mind the extended scar which you will have. Continue your workouts till the day of your surgery and listen to your doc. If he says no abd exercises for 8 weeks (which is usually the case) then DON't do them. You should try to walk as much as possible from day one of your surgery. When I had my C sections I was up the same day although not for long. But by a week I was walking 1/2 mile very slowly. Old folks were passing me by lol. Because you will be less active after surgery I suggest eating less calories and limiting goodies and junk very severely. Eat good foods, your proteins, carbs and veggies and continue to eat mini meals 5-6 per day to ward off hunger. Drink lots of water. In short do what you are doing but exercise will be limited for awhile. Good luck.

Thanks so much for your advice. I promise I will listen to the surgeon and do as he says...lol. I'm going to go 'hard' up until the surgery date. When you say you worked 'private duty' are you a nurse? Thanks again, I'll be in touch post op!

Good luck to you. Let us know how it goes.
A friend of mine had the surgery done a couple weeks ago. She went in good shape...the dr. told her it would be much easier for her to get a six pack now. lucky!

Good luck Buff...let us know how things worked out. Ive had discussions on the pros and cons of the surgery. Be interesting to hear from one who has experienced the procedure. Once again good luck and GREAT workouts!!!

I was a nurse aide for years in hospitals. I am now a medical secretary. Always medical. Let us know how things turn out.
