The main reason for adding peanut butter is twofold, one is it is very calorie dense so good for gaining(extra calories), and two for the healthy fats. If the gaining is not part of your plan anyway, then the second one is easy. Adding fats that are healthy can be accomplished in a number of ways, flax oil added to your shakes is wonderful. You can take fish oil on the side which may even be better. But, if calories are your game, then a great alternative to get both calories and fat are to use a couple tbsps. of heavy cream. This makes it taste great, will give you great calorie density, and add good fats to your shake. (for a normal diet, it is found that heavy cream works almost as well as flax(not the health benefits of course, but mimics the other effects) with great results on testosterone.
