Hey everyone, just found this site, it looks great!
On to my question:
I've started doing daily ab workouts (situps/crunches/leg lifts etc) and I was curious if I needed to put in a day of resting between days of working my abs or is it okay to do these every day? I'm doing several sets of crunches throughout the day and have already noticed a difference in my upper abs (as far as how much i can see them when i flex) And my total ab "core" has a nice soreness (or whatever you would like to call it) I'm also taking a creatin powder from GNC because i was told it would help to build the ab muscles.
Any advice here would be grealy appreciated!

General rule of thumb is to work abs every other day.
Your muscles actually build when they are resting, working out 'tears them down', and as they recuperate they get denser and stronger.
In short you really shouldn't work the same muscle group two days in a row. Feeding and Resting are just as important as Exercising!!

What type of cardio would you recommend? I I just started walking roughly 3-5 miles a day with my wife, does this count?

You have to treat your abs like you treat the rest of your muscle groups. Give them the rest they deserve, as mentioned above by datdanigirl, the time in between the gym is when you'll make your gains. Another big part of the ab picture is lowering you body fat percentage. Walking is fine and dandy but if you are looking to lower that body fat percentage I would recommend running/biking,anything that is fairly strenuous should do the trick!:big_smile:

Say I was going to run. How far/often would you recommend for a beginner. I'm quite a thin guy, but as we all know, this doesn't mean that i'm in shape. I've tried running a mile a couple times recently and my biggest problem seems to be shin splints (or what i think is shin splints) I get a couple areas on my shins (mostly my right leg) that pop out a little bit and my shin muscles will get to the point where they will flex, and not stop flexing. am I overdoing it?
