Hello Everyone,

Now I’m aware I can search for this subject in the FT archives but after trying, and finding a multitude of subjects that contain the word ‘AB’S’, I’ve decided its faster to re ask the question so here goes:-

I work out 5 days a week and fit the abs work out at the end of each work out. Does it do any harm to work your abs on two or three consecutive days? Or is it best to have a day on then a day off.

Is this too much, or acceptable?

It depends if you are using resistance or not. If you are using resistance, then you need to give the muscles a rest.

Abs are a muscle group too. They need a break just like all muscles. I found that my best ab results came when I started treating them as a singular workout, focusing on high resistance only twice a week.

If your not into doing resistance ab training, you should still give yourself a day break inbetween.

- Its never about how much you can lift, or how many reps you do. Its just about doing it, and doing it right.
- If your hungry all the time, your not eating enough. And anyways, being hungry sucks.

You can work them everyday w/o resistance. But I will always argue, based on experience, that a muscle must heal to grow/reshape/tone. Keep working a frayed thread and all you get is a furball.
