Ok, my buddy does juice and every other f-ing supplement you can think of. But then i ask him what to do seeing im 5'11 172lbs and trying to build mass , basically trying to get bigger.. Ok, let me get back to where i was. so anyways i asked him what to take and he said don't waste the money on all these supplments, he said to just eat mad protein as in , Oatmeal and tuna , chicken a whole bunch of shit... And basically Im wondering, what is the most i gain if i eat this shit for the summer, and constantly working out... It seems dumb but an answer would be awesome.

Donny...your friend is right in that you shouldn't need all the supplements. The key will be eating a clean, high protein, high calorie diet and lifting heavy. Check out the "Grocer List for a Bodybuilder post" in the nutrition forum, and look at some of the other posts there for guidance as far as a diet plan. As far as how much weight you will gain, if this is your first time training seriously with a good diet, you could make significant gains in a short amount of time (15-20 lbs in 3 mos). This of course won't ALL be muscle, but it's great nonetheless. If you are a more experienced trainer, however, I believe asimmer's post said that 1.5 lbs per month of lean gain is the max. Good luck and keep asking Q's here in the forums.

good luck. Lift heavy. Eat right. You'll be all good, just stay away from the juice. that stuff is bad.

I got another question now that i think about it, when you say lift heavy, do you mean heaviest comfortable weight or some weight you can barely lift?

Lift heavy is more of a motivational saying than advice. Unless your looking to become a powerlifter, which judging by your post, I dont think you are, then you dont have to lift close to your ORM. But also, make sure you feel it when you get done with your sets. Its kinda directed towards people that only do a set of 10 with 65lbs when there capable of a set of 10 w/ 85lbs.

you hit it right on the head, wrestler. It isn't to tell you go hurt yourself. It's motivation. Don't wuss out at the gym, push yourself. Or else...
