im looking to lean up and gain muscle, but im not really trying to become super-bulky.i just got a platinum weider crossbow,so i decided i would try some spring valley soy protein.....i was wondering how soy compares to other proteins.

does it matter what time of day i workout?.i ask this because i have work and school to deal with so i only have free time after about 7pm.also ive heard that eating a high protein meal after a workout is a good idea, but i really dont have the opportunity to cook up a chicken meal at any given time.is there any way i could accomplish the same effect without cooking a big meal?

Whey protein is superior for building muscle.

Work out when you can. Have a protein shake post workout, then about 45 min. later have a protein based balanced meal. I would avoid alot of starchy carbs pre bed unless you have a raging metabolism.
