okay well im not really sure where i should post this buti was just wondering if this sounds right. Im 21 years old..about 5'5 and weight 147. My goal is to lose around 20 pounds. It says for daily intake i must have:
150g of Protein
300g of Carbs
24g of Fat
Total Calories of 1998
i feel that 24g of fat seems reasonable, but 300 carbs seems like a lot to me? Not sure if protein is right either. When it comes to this, i don't really know anything so if someone could please help me, it would be great. Thanks :)

It sounds reasonable....aim to keep most carbs in the form of slow digesting complex variety...(oatmeal, sweet potatoes, yams, brown/black/wild rice, buckwheat, etc)....if you don't tolerate carbs that well then slightly lower the carbs and increase protein/healthy fat intake in proportion to maintain the overall caloric intake....

mandy - how much have you been eating up until now?
At 147lbs, I think you should be taking in 1,500 - 1,800 calories, depending on how active you are. So it isn't too far off, just a bit high. The calculators here are a bit high in my opinion.
So if you went with the 1500-1800 range (depending on your activity level and current intake), 150g carbs - 180g carbs. that is 40% carbs.
That is just my opinion.

Eh, seems low in fat and high in carbohydrates... i rarely see successful low fat dieting. Hell, my pre - bed shake alone has 34 grams of fat.
I also believe that a lot has to do with the type of macronutrient and nutrient timing. I can lose or gain on the same diet, depending on when I eat which foods. I can cut weight easily on 400 carbs, provided 300 of them are PWO. Also, those 34 grams of fat in my shake: 2 tablespoons olive oil and 6 fish oil capsules. Fat that can help you lose fat...

Hi Mandy
You and I have the same nutrition requirements and there is no way I could ever get to 300g of carbs..so I do around 150..as for fat,I do around 22-24.My fat comes from olive oil and flax seed oil, plus other decent sources.
As for calories, again I dont get up to the 1998,on days iam not working out, I do about 1500,on days I do work out I take in about 1800.
