Hello:

My husband introduced me to the website. We have gained over 30 lbs after we moved to US. Last year, I had to much time on my hand, I went to the gym 5-6 times a week and mainly did 3 days of yoga and 3 days of cardieo (kickbox mainly)
I couldn't do anything for 5 months, we have a new business... however, we are back on track. I signed up for the 8 week program plus 12-week ab program. and we are also cutting calories... I actually don't think we eat to much, I think we just don't exercise enough in this city...

anyway, I want to come up with a mix program. Can I do 2 days yoga(get the stress out) and 3 days weight training. Right now I only do 5 times weights and I run for 30 minutes on the machines...

my husband thinks we have to do 5 days weights to see some muscle, and we sure can see them, but I also still can see the fat... I can easily do cardio on the days that I am doing yoga.. or on the days I do weights.

any help is appreciated.

Why not just say 3 days when the program asks you to specify how many days per week you work out since ft does not have a program with yoga in it. The days you go to the gym, as far as FreeTrainers is concerned are the days you do weight training.

Three days is plenty, especially with yoga. Yoga is a good form of exercise and not to just take away stress. Just use your three days weight training to the best of your advantage. As therainmaker says, sign up for the 3 day program. It will give you everything you need.

Oh yes, 3 days is great with cardio and the yoga, you wont be overtraining. With eating correctly, you will be enjoying a nice lifestyle.
Good Luck

3 days is fine. 5 days of intense exercise is something only most bodybuilders NEED to do. plus if you enjoy the yoga more than weightlifting then obviously make time for it. you will be more likely to stick to a program you like than something you feel you have to do.

thank you so much for all your help...

I changed my program to 3 days... this should give me time to do 2 days yoga and I can include cardio classes into this program...

I hope to see changes within 10-12 weeks. will keep you posted. maybe I can even send pictures of my 6-pack abs :)

thanks again, i will keep posting

gbaser a 3 day weight training week is adequate enough to see good results, your results will be what you've put into it. and it sounds like you are on the right track!! good luck and like you said, keep us posted. I'll be looking for those 6pack abs you were talking about. :)
