hey guys, long time no see. i've been out of the supplement research realm for a while and was going to see if i could get a quick protien recommendation.

i'm not going to be using this as a post-workout supplement, just as a boost for yogurt and oatmeal, and i'm looking for an isolate rather than a blend. here's the key: i'm on a tight budget and i'm trying to go as high-quality as i can without spending too much.

does anyone have any thoughts about what will meet my needs without breaking my bank? i'm trying to keep it under $40 and i'm open to using something other than whey if it will better meet my needs. thanks everyone.

Great tasting, each batch certified, and quality isolate.

thanks bb1, but at the risk of sounding picky, they don't have vanilla (that i can find) and that's what i'm looking for. i've been poking around the web a little to try and see what's out there. i've always used nature's best, cytosport and optimum nutrition supplements, but those can get pricey.

i had been looking at cytosport evopro, which is what goes into muscle milk and is actually a whey/casein blend, but i can't figure out for the life of me if the whey used is an isolate. it just doesn't say anywhere. i'm ok with having casein in there, i just don't want the whey used to be a concentrate.

anyway, like i said, i've been out of the loop for so long that i have no idea if this is right for what i'm using it for. i'd typically be using about an hour before workout or a few hours before bed.

p.s. if there's a reasonable "build your own" protien site i can use, i'd be open to that as well. of course with that will come more questions because my nutritional knowledge has been sapped.

Sorry about the flavors....most folks love them. Didn't know you simply wanted vanilla.
