To anyone who can help.....
Just a little description of myself (because I'm having a hard time uploading some photo's). I am 5'10, weight 150lbs, and have an inseam of 36". That means that from the bottom of my breast to my hip bone is about 6 inches. I'm not kidding! So any weight that I stored on me is stored in that area! I have a 4 pack, but I REALLY want to have a 6 pack. (more is better right!) I go to the gym 5 days a week. My workout consists of 20 min cardio, 10 min legs/thighs, and 20 min abbs and lower back. I do 100 sit ups in the morning and 100 more at night (7 days a week).
I know that I can get there because I was 140lbs when I came back from Iraq. (I'm 150 now) I ran faster and felt better with less weight!
Is there some "secret" exercise that will get rid of my lower pooch and my love handles? The problems that I face with doing flutter kicks (Army exercise), is that because my legs are so long, my center of gravity is off set. So it can be very difficult to do some exercises properly! AND it can be very difficult to get a good workout on my abbs, because I mostly use my thigh muscles (no problems there, by the way).
If anyone can understand my problem here, PLEASE help me out. Any advise is appreciated and welcome!
PS. If you want a picture to better understand my issue, please send me your e-mail address.
Thanks......Sunny

What kind of exercises do you do specifically that target your legs/hips?

Cardio before weight-training beyond light 5-10 minute warm up is counter productive....20 minutes is too short of duration for a good cardio workout, unless it's a sprint type workout....

100 sit ups will get you nowhere...anything beyond 20 reps will just build up muscle endurance and not much else....nice abs are as much about nutrition as they are about specific exercises...Abs like explosive tempo(they are fast twitch muscles) and you need to progressively increase resistance or complexity of an exercise to continue to see results....doing even 1000 sit ups will get you anywhere....sit ups train your hip flexors as much as your abs...

Indirect 'big' exercises work your abs/back harder than direct exercises....

Variations of squats, deadlifts, shrugs, goodmornings, dips, etc...

I can't say a whole lot about my diet to tell you truth. I try to eat right, but I think it's harder to change my eating habbits than it is to just go the gym!
I drink about 1 liter of water/day. I don't eat any fast food. For breakfast I'll eat 4 bioled eggs (w/o yoke), for lunch I eat a ham sandwich along with celery and some apple sauce. My dinners vary from baked chicken to shrimp posta or maybe a steak. And throughout the day, I'll eat a protein bar (22g of protein) and/or a meal replacement bar. (I'm ALWAYS hungry!!!!)

No "secret" exercises sunny. The area your talking abnout is the last and hardest place to lose. It is where Your diet is key and must be followed religously. Take time and read thru "diet thread" in the specific diet and nutrition forum. Browse that whole forum. For you to acheive your goal, you have to put your main emphsis on diet. Diet is always more important, but when you get to those last few pounds, it becomes almost everything.

Thanks for all the advise. I always assumed that woking out was more important than dieting.
Now I know...............

I will go as far as saying it is of equal or greater importance. However, that last bit will not come unless EVERYTHING is in order. In other words, you could diet and still see nothing, or you could exercise and see nothing, but you will get the best results when everything is in place.
