Hi All,
I started my fat loss program about 2 months ago. I was at 170 lbs when I started, I'm now at 150 lbs. I've seen really good results b/c I've also lost 2-3 inches in my waist size. I'm not sure if I want to lose this much weight. I've been doing heavy lifting to maintain muscle mass, but it seems like I continue to lose weight. Below is an outline of my routine. Please advise if I should make any changes. I want to continue to lose more body fat, but maintain my weight
Eating:
5-6 meals, High Protein, low-carb
Cardio:
4-5 times first thing in morning 45-60 minutes
Weight Training:
Heavy Lifting 2-3 times a week

I want to continue to maximize fat loss and believe that cardio first thing in the morning is one of the most effective ways to achieve this. If I cut out the cardio in the morning, will lifting weights alone help me lose body fat. My goal now is to get to a certain body fat level where I can start to work my abs and get a 6-pack. Also, what will the increase in calories do for me?. Please explain

I'm doing about the same routine. I only cardio 3 times a week. Not first thing, I do around lunch time for 20 mins. high intensity. And i usually do about 3 mins after weight lifting. I have been doing this for about 4 weeks now and have lost alot of fat. And gaining some muscle. My body weight seems to be falling very very slowly. I'm sure i've lost alot more fat than I am making up for in muscle tissue. So I guess this is normal. The more "right" calories you eat means the more muscle tissue you will gain.

Don't cut out the cardio completely, just cut back the length of time you do it for, otherwise you risk losing muscle. 20-30 minutes should be sufficient. Make sure you have something to eat before your morning workout too, this also helps minimise muscle loss.
How many calories are you eating at the moment?

I don't know how much calories I'm eating. If I have to take a guess, I would say around 1500-2000. I'm guessing based on the responses, I should eat more calories?.

Definitely - I need 1900 cals to maintain my weight and I'm a 127lb, 5'4 girl!
If you're not sure how many you need, try using the guide in the nutritional profile on this site.
You can vary your cals up or down by 250 after 1 week, depending on whether you lose or gain weight
