Im pretty sure im right but i just want to make sure. There is this lady who i work with and she is losing weight, she claims to have lost something like 40 lbs. But i don't think she is doing it right, and im not going to say anything, because its not my place but mostly because i dont' like her. but what she is doing is not eating breakfast or lunch and eating a dinner or something around 3 then not eating again til 11 or so and the mean at 11 is a wendy's salad or equivalent. Now isn't that not healthy and the weight that she is mostly losing is lean muscle?? which in the long run she will not only end up gaining that weight back in fat, and even end up gaining more because she will have less lean muscle which will inturn slow her metabolism??

Very unhealthy, and she will pay a price for a short term fix! Her metabolism will slow to a crawl, and her msucle to fat ratio will get entirely out of hand. If and when she starts eating again, the body will immediately store most as fat, which will in turn make the fat to muscle ratio even worse, and thus the giant rebound effect that accompanies those types of diets. You want long term results, with a sound diet and exercise. Good you don't like her!! LOL...

Yeah i figured as much, I don't know why people are so much not into exercising. I just dont get it at all. they diet, and would much rather starve themselves rather than doing 1/2 hr of cardio, which makes you happy with endorphin release? One may never know.. But yeah the story is funny and i have a question regarding it. She will start eating again?? she is eating... you mean like eating more, or eating real food like thanksgiving etc?? Well the story gets funnier bb1 b/c i fed into it. i go oh you look like you are losing so much weight. and she goes yeah well i have a new relationship with food, im not dieting b/c dieting has a beginning and an end. im on a journey... i was thinking oh your on a journey alright don't bother to wave goodbye your arm will jiggle too much!! haha but she will start eating again?? you mean more meals more times a day b/c you cant eat that little and survive?? what happens after and when will she start eating again??

She could do it forever...it's called the North Korea Diet. However sooner or later she is going to slip, get sick or whatever. At that point unless she's rail-thin to begin with (which I doubt, or she wouldn't be dieting) she's gonna blimp up. I know a woman (well, at least one) at my work just like that. She looks OK, but has an unnatural flabbiness caused by a starvation diet. These kinds of diets are much more common these days due to the preponderance of appetite-suppressing drugs (OTC and otherwise). Pity them.
Oh, another thing - I've heard that "new relationship with food" line before...can't recall where...

I'll tell you why, robct. As women we just want to be thin! We are not interested in being fit, or healthy, and that is the sad state of our country. SuperModels are not fit, or healthy but that is what we are all told we need to look like to be wanted and admired by men. Maybe if men stepped up and said, hey, that is not what we like, then the media and television would change their public image to one of a healthier, not so skinny woman. Ya think? Fat chance, right?
