Hey guys,

Just out of curiosity, and I know every body type is different however I am wondering that after working hard on weights, cardio and a good diet, when will losing fat and weight become noticeable? And where is it mostly prevalent on men (face, stomach, neck, etc.)?

Hope to see some answers and I understand that not everyone is the same but with some hard work I am just wondering in which week will you notice changes?

Thanks in advance.

Some people notice effects within a week or two (lucky them) but six weeks is a good amount of time to work away and then see results.

Everyone is different in the order they lose fat - one old saying is first to hire, last to fire. meaning if you first put it on as lovehandles, then it gained in your butt, then on your arms...it will go away in the reverse order. i don't know how true that is, but it helps to keep in mind that you didn't gain it all at once, so you won't lose it all at once. I have had clients who seem to lose directly from their stomach fisrt, and others who get more frustrated because they lose it like a blanket, a little bit from everywhere, which is less noticeable when you see yourself in the mirror every day.

take some 'before' photos, take a set of measurementsd and then in two weeks do the photos and measurements again - you should see some changes. I find measuring to be the most rewarding way to track progress because you can lose a pound or two and be discouraged at the rate of progress, but when you measure you may find you have lost 5-6 inches all over.

Thanks Asimmer for the advice. I hope to really work hard at this. It's just hard sometimes, like you said, people get discouraged too quickly and then they stopped. I was one of them, I stopped because I noticed nothing happeneing a year ago and now, its even worse. I think the hardest part in this is to find the 'right' foods to eat and keep it that way. Got any breakfast tips?

Thanks again.

You definitely have to watch your diet. I recently finished an intense, 12-week weight training/cardio program to lose 30 pounds. The key is to eat as close to nature as possible. Meaning, not a lot of bleached, fried, and processed foods or sweets. Eat multi-grain bread instead of white bread, etc. I weight trained four days a week and did a minimum 30 minutes of cardio 5 and 6 days a week. Eat fruit in the morning due to the high amount of natural sugars and up the protein (shakes, bars, chicken). I did eat cookies every once in a while so don't be too hard on yourself if you stray. The goal should be for a lifetime of eating right, not just a few months to shed some pounds. My eating plan was three meals and two snacks. Grain/cereal for breakfast and protein and vegetables the rest of the day with plenty of water. This is what worked for me. As I end my long reply, I hope I helped.

Onlysyt, that helped a lot! Thanks for the tips. Guess the toughest thing to do is get on your horse and try not to fall off of it. Did you notice a lot of weight loss in your 12-week program? Did you reach your goals or go beyond it? I am trying to aim at eating 5 meals a day (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner with a snack in between breakfast and lunch). I am going to try to stick to the nutritional program as close as possible on this site. Have to try and cut down on the calorie, fat and carb intake.

Hope to really see results to keep me motivated.

I came down from 165 to 134 pounds and went from overweight to lean muscle. I definitely noticed a lot of weight loss and so did people around me. Within the first month or two of starting my program, people would say my face was looking slimmer. I also came down from a size 12 to a 6 so I am happy with my results. I think I went beyond my goals because I never thought I would get back into a size 6 and I can actually run a 5k-on my treadmill anyway. My next goals are to get those 6-pack abs, more lean muscle so I can look trimmer and do more pull-ups and to work up to running a 10k.
