Hi yall,

I need help. I want quite a big body, I have some excess fat everywhere.
So...

1) Should I do Cardio until i loose all the fat and then start lifting weights?

2) Should I just do weights, and the fat will get burned (down or into muscle, i dunno)

3) Or should I just do both?

Please feel free to say what u think if it's 1, 2 or 3 without the scientific knowledege . I dont understand.

Thanks ppl

both.. the weight training will help build lean muscle, and will raise your metabolism to burn more fat. use the cardio to get rid your excess fat. try out a FT program if you are new to weight training to get a good foundation.. good luck!

Thanks Bropie, thats wot I was doing coz i was unsure. So I shld do cardio after my weight training? My chest area is letting me down coz it is quite flabby. Should I work out my chest more often? or shld I just workout my chest and then do cardio? And is working each muscle group 1x a week ok? If I work them 2x a week will it grow more?

Thanks

definately do cardio after yout weight training.. you will optimize your energy stores then for the weights, and finish off your glycogen stores with the cardio (and hopefully tap the fat stores).

work out your chest as often as you work out your other parts. as you build muscle and shed fat, it will tighten up. typically, i would only work each muscle group once a week.. gives it plenty of time to rest and recover until the next session. as well, say you train chest monday and tris thursday, your tris will be a secondary muscle group getting hit monday, and a primary on thursday. so its almost like 2 workouts a week..

Ok thanks, when u say "as you build muscle and shed fat" does this mean doing weights first and then doing cardio?

If I have 8 weeks, that will be 8 times I have trained my chest. Will I see any difference?
(Im not excpecting nything huge)

And by the way, whats the difference between cardio training and fat burning training?

Thanks

Use the weight training to build muscle, let cardio and diet do the fat burning. Remember that word, diet is key whether gaining or losing. Without proper structure for you goals with your diet, you will not see any real change and then frustration sets in.
