Has anyone had any liposuction procedure done. My wife is planning on getting it done on her thigh & butt area. She has been working out for the past 8 months doing weights and tonnes of cardio. There has been improvement everywhere except her thigh & butt area. She has went for a consultation and they say no amount of exersize will correct this area, but we're looking at a 5000.00 bill (ouch). If anyone has had this procedure done or can give any further advice I would appreciate it.

can it be that 'no amount of exercise will correct this (or any) area' ? I also asked here a question about liposuction for this some days ago,and Philia2 told me that exercise is enough

I'm not going to pretend I'm a big fan of altering ones body through surgery, but I think that when plastic surgeons say things like that, they're just in it for the money. If people weren't afraid of really working to get to where they want to be, plastic surgeons would not be so prevalent. I watched an MTV "special" on plastic surgery, there were two girls on there, one was getting her thighs done and the other I believe was increasing from a surgically altered D-cup to yet a larger cup size. My point is, that there was nothing wrong with these girls to begin with, plenty of women would love to have the thighs of that girl! I think maybe you and your wife might want to hold out on the surgery and try making dietary changes and/or changes in her current fitness routine. Maybe you could let us know more about what she's doing now. Also, I would like to add that if your wife gets this surgery done and then gains weight later on, her thighs may start doing things she really won't like, because although the liposuction removes some of the fat cells, it doesn't stop the remaining fat cells from becoming larger when one puts on weight and the distribution of those fat cells, post-surgery may lead to some dimpling and just plain weirdness. My long and outdrawn two cents.

since lipsuction is not natural, as in the body does not get rid of it itself, some say that you may even gain back the fat that you had taken out through lipo.

I think Lumina covered it pretty well. I cant imagine a proffesional P/S saying you cant rectify the problem on your owne, because you can, it may take longer but it is cheaper heathier and you respect yourself more in the end for your accomplishments. Good luck in making your choice

In my honest opinion EVERTHING can be done with exercise and diet....... (except when it's genetic...... can't do anything about that I'm afraid).
Fat on your thighs CAN be moved in a natural way. Hard work yes I know, but everybody can do it.

Philia; how can we understand that it is genetic? What is the implication of it? Is "can not remove fat from any area though doing a hard work" an implication? or anything else?

I think that liposuction is ok when someone has gotten to their ideal weight and is not doing it as a way to get out of exercise. Some people carry weight in certain areas while the rest of their body is skinny. My aunt lost about 50 pounds and had very skinny legs and arms and belly. She just carried very heavy in her thighs and glutes. I think the only way that she could have actually gotten it proportioned would be though surgery. My opinion anyways.

Well, that's the tricky thing..... It's difficult to say. Try to look at your family, is it the same or has somebody succeeded in getting rid of the fat? As I said so many times, the fat that we have on our thighs is different from the fat that we carry anywhere else, it's hormonol. That's why we need other technics to get rid of it. I've had good results using yohimbine (read my letter in the female forum)
