I was sitting in my car this morning waiting for my wife to get done in a store. And the thought hit me, I love lifting heavy! I mean I really love it. Nothing satisfies me more then putting weight on a bar and move it. One thing to clarify is what I mean by heavy weight. I mean a weight that you on your own are greatly challenged to move it. I love it, that feeling of dread that builds and then when you hit the reps you are aiming for turns into a joy that is almost better than any other out there. Picture it: you have (well lets take me) deadlifts to do, your long term goal is to lift 600 once. You now workout with 225-300. That last set comes up it is 300 and you are at the bar. You adjust the grip a few times. picture each rep over and over in you mind. Then in a mind numbing set you pop off 8 reps. Getting that weight done is a feeling like no other. I love that. I even love that feeling I get when I do not get the weight done. I know I still have work to do. My final thought is to say do nto be afraid to try that weight that you might neve have tried before....even if you do not get it you can build from there!!! Well just thought I would share this with you all....

Great inspiration!!! I agree...sometimes you load up the weight and it goes through your head "what if I can't get it up"...you start to feel intimidated, you pace around debating what to do...you decide to go for it...you manage to do it and the joy of accomplishing moving more weight than ever before is a feeling like no other.

I could not agree more with you mutt. People do not understand the daily battles that we put ourselves through. But we absolutely would not have it any other way. It's a brotherhood of sorts.

Welcome to the insane world of strength training, Mutt!
I've had people tell me "What does moving alot weight mean? It doesn't do anything for you." I just tell them "It's a strength thing; you just wouldn't understand!"

I know what you are talking bout. I get such strange looks when I talk about a nice heavy set of well anything. Unless you have tried it you have no idea, and for that matter no real place to talk about it unless it is to ask legit questions about it.
