This question may be answered somewhere else but here it goes anyway. I work out my legs twice a week. But I also try to incorporate cardio 4 times a week. I've been told to not do cardio the day before, the day of, and the day after my leg workout. But this is impossible for me. So my question is what do you guys think the best way to work it into my schedule would be? Currently I try to cut my cardio out the day of and the day after my leg workouts. But it still gets done on those days now and then. Oh yeah and my cardio consists of 3-5 miles of running on a track. Any suggestions?

My first suggestion would be to fill out your profile so we know something about you and your goals.

I don't feel it's really necessary to fill that out. I have a workout plan that I like and have seen results from. My diet is clean and my workouts are intense. My question is just for some feedback on the maximal results I can obtain through my workouts. To put it simply is the cardio going to affect my leg muscles in a negative way?

If done on those certain days before on or after my leg workout.

How can someone give you a correct answer if we know nothing about you, your workout or your goals? You have to give a little to get a little. Why so much cardio ?

I do cardio on legs days!

I always warm up on a cardio machine for 3 to 5 minutes then go lift, on cardio day in the same manor and after lifting I'll do 20 to 30 minutes cardio!

Hi fouts.....just in general terms other members like to see a profile that is filled out with some info...helps us get to know you better...and the more info, the better the answer when you ask. Some of the people on here...that can give truely valueable advice won't even answer a post if there is no profile. So if you would...that would be nice...thanks...and welcome to FT.

I do so much cardio because I have a desk job. I also do cardio because the number one killer of Americans is heart disease which can stem from a sedentary lifestyle. But I really just enjoy running. I would do it everyday if I could. I was in the military so it was always a large part of our workout. The only thing I was asking is why these people say to not do cardio the day before the day of or the day after your leg workout. I have always thought that different muscle fibers are used in cardio than are used in weightlifting. So I'm just wondering if these remarks are made because cardio on those days can negatively impact the muscles you are training. I think everyone wants to reap the maximum amount of benefits from all of their workouts no matter if it's cardio or weightlifting. That is why I asked the question yet I haven't really got a legitimate response.
