Some nuts and nut butters are okay, just in moderation. The fat needs to be taken into account for your total fat allowance, as long as you are in your range it is fine. The fats in nuts are heart beneficial.
Berries are good, too. Around 6 weeks out from your competition you will cut fruit (maybe earlier if you plateau). But for now they are a great source of fiber and anti-oxidants, pus it feels like you are getting to have dessert!
I love froxen strawberries in a shake with a 1/2 TBSP flaxseed oil and 2 scoops vanilla or banana flavor protein powder and 8 oz water. It is like a cheat!

When you go on your leaning diet, fruits have no place. Fruit replaces liver glycogen, which is not of much use to us as hard trainers. At this point, all the calories we take in matter for energy and maintenance, and useless ones for the most part we don't need. If you are gaining, fruit is acceptible, but try to use more functional fruit like strawberries, blueberries, apples, peaches, etc.
-------------- Great people never want it easier, they just want to be better!
