Its me again. I am just so lacking motivation. Any body have any tips on how to get my butt out of bed a little earlier to do a work-out. I set the alarm and next thing I know i've pressed the snooze button 4-5 times and Im late getting up as it is and am rushing out the door to work. I lack will power to not eat junk food, especially with a 7 year old and easter coming up. I need to put a good food selection on the table for my husband and I, but I talk the talk good, but lack motivation to do it. HELP.

Well it will take longer but how about saying that you will eat perfect the first 3 meals of the day... then after a week go with 4.. then another week goto 5 then go for all 6 meals.

I know it is hard not to eat things but look at some of the people eating those things is a way for me to see the reason for NOT eating that stuff!

Without your own inner willingness and determination it will not happen. You have to want it enough to do something about it. But we are here to support you daily. Start a daily thread on here so others can help keep you on your toes, but inevitably it is up to you sweetie. :)

Good luck!

Visualise!

Imagine two distinct versions of you. The future you, as you'd like to be, healthier, more energy, happier, able to buy the clothes you like, confident. Really really picture this person. How they behave, how they feel, how they look.

Do the same with the you that doesn't want to bother, or feels a lack of motivation. Really visualise this person, how they feel etc etc.

Now decide which one you want to be.

Each time you have to make a decision that will affect which one you'll be in six months, imagine what each would do in that situation, then decide again which one you want to be.

It works for me!

Those are some great suggestions, thank you!! I know if I can just get over the first few days, I'll be fine, but I am so tired in the morning. I love candy---Im addicted. Its sooo hard. I want to, but I keep doing the ever famous-I'll start tomorrow, and now its been how many months/years!

Do you want candy more than you want to be the 'other' you?

You are suffering from goal conflict, made especially hard by the fact that human beings when offered a small reward now, or a big reward in the future almost always take the small reward now.

If you were to rate how much you want to be the 'new' you out of 10, and how much you really want the candy out of 10, which wins?

You can do it, if you want it enough! Keep fighting!

Thanks Jon! So I just resigned myself to NOT buy candy.. I told my husband this morning we are taking a different approach to Easter this year with our daughter. NO candy. We'll do plastic Easter Eggs and stick fun stuff in there, like money or little toys.

I'd like to know how people get over pressing the snooze button in the morning. I am a morning person ONCE I get up. I am energized and do a lot of work and work my best, but its getting up that is the problem! I let my husband press the snooze button from 6:00-6:30 this morning and I finally got up. By that time though I had to get our daughter up and ready for school. grrrr I hate the snooze. i think I need to move the damn clock to the other side of the room.

How bad do you want it that is what it comes down to. Heck when I was college. I brought a protein shake in a bottle and made oats in the microwave at the caffeteria. I got lots of weird looks but I got my meals in

Yep, the number of people who laugh now and call my lunch 'rabbit food' is funny. What's funnier is, those people are now starting to ask me how I did it. About 5 or 6 at work so far.

Visualise your goal, set little targets and go for it!

get the sugary snacks out of the house. Cooking healthy meals is easier than it seems. Throw a couple of chicken breasts on the George Foreman, invest in plenty of frozen vegetables, throw some frozen broccoli in the microwave and a little more in your lunch plate, make some instant mashed potatos and leave out the milk and butter or pop a baked potato in the microwave. Done in 15 minutes, no problem, lunch made for tomorrow also. Just an example, be creative, lean ground beef and brown rice thrown together and put inside a bell pepper, put in the over for a while, stuffed bell peppers. Protein (beef) carb (rice) veg. (pepper). Getting out of bed is the hardest part, just put the alarm clock across the room, you have to get up to snooze, since your already up why not go for it. I know, its harder than it sounds but definitely worth it.
Good luck, you can do it.
