Ok So Iam a little excided and am REALLLLLLY nervius. but I have a karate tournament on Saturday 11-13-04. This is mostlikly a little a little on the laste side for posting but my bro-in-law has posted and have been reading that one and going off some of the suggestions there as well.
I am not really scared that I will loose or excited that I will win but I am stressed at the fact last time I was in a situation like this was back in HS when I wrestled for HS so I am already starting to get antsey and shaky. I will keep poping in every now and then to see what advice I get on calmeing dow LOL
thanks all and wish me luck

Yeah!!! Had you not woosed out, you would have done rather well in sparring. There were only 4 others in your division, and one of them was Colleen. She lost her first match 5-1 (she got a point for getting hit in the face) and her second match 5-0 (5 right-legged roundhouse kicks that wouldn't have knocked a fly off it's path. The guy looked insulted to have to fight her for third place).
I, on the other hand, won first for Kata and second for Sparring in my division (Intermediate - Orange through Purple Belts). There were about 10-12 of us in Kata and 6 in sparring. I won the Kata by probably a full point, and in sparring I won my first round 5-3 and lost to the first place guy 5-0. His signature move was a right-legged roundhouse that would fold you in half, followed by a strike to the head. He had long arms and legs, and was very fast with the hands. This move took out his two previous competitors, but I didn't get hit by it even once. Instead, I avoided the kick, which didn't allow the headshot. Then, as soon as I came in to attack, he got that long right arm right into my right floating rib. I received that 5 times, I think. One of the other instructors told me that I simply threw the wrong weapon every time against that guy.
But hey! I was there to win the Kata trophy, and that's what I did! The 2nd place trophy for sparring was just a bonus!

Dierwolf -
It was one of Professor Greene's students who won. They were all wearing yellow pads, so people could simply yell, "Go yellow!", and it wouldn't matter which fighter it was. I think Yellow won your division also, but I could be wrong. One of Kyoshi's guys won third in my division.
