jogging? I love to sweat while running...it makes me feel I got an excellent work out. But when I run when its cold outside, I feel I don't really sweat. I run outdoors for about 45 minutes. Do we burn the same amount of calories if its hot or cold? Does it matter if we sweat a lot or not? If anyone knows, it would be great to hear your answer.

I went running in the winter, and by the time i was done my run my sweater and coat were wet from all the soap, and i run for 40 - 50 min. straight with out stopping. That's just me, do you take breaks when you run or not?

I know what you mean, when I come home covered in sweat it makes it feel like you really did something. But I don't believe that it does anything more than make you lose a little water weight, very short term fluctuation at the most.
It is like sitting in a sauna, it doesn't make you lose weight any faster despite what many folks may think.
You are burning the same amount of calories with the same work is what it boils down to.

Yes, I do run without taking breaks. Thanks for all your inputs! I was told in another message board pretty much the same thing...it just makes you lose more water. Thanks for all your inputs. I guess I will start running in the mornings instead of waiting for noon!
