I have a question regarding Cardio. Is it better to do it in the morning or evenings. Right now, I do about 30-45 min of cardio at around noon time(3 or 4 times a week)after weight training. I've been working out for approx. 4 mos and have noticed some fat loss but not as much as I had hoped and YES, i do eat very healthy. I am not trying to lose weight, JUST Fat around the belly. I'm a Male,19yrs, 5'11, 170pounds. Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

Yes morning cardio is good since your body turns to fat burning a lot faster than normal. BUT doing cardio in the afternoon is better than not doing any cardio at all...... Why not just try to do morning cardio for a week or two and then see if you get better results?!!

Yes, cardio is best in the morning. If you weight train right after you do your cardio, you may want to switch it up. I do cardio in the morning and weight train in the evening. If you don't have the time to switch it up, you may want to weight train after cardio, that way you are burning more fat while lifting....... just a thought.

well it all depends on how hard you work. if your working at your target heart rate then thats fine cause your main energy source is fat, but if your working out more intensely then i would recommend that you eat carbs before you workout, cause carbs are your main energy source for more intense work, and this will also lead to greater fat loss.

Doing cardio on an empty stomach is best. But if you can not do it in the morning (I am not an early morning riser), than anytime of day is better than no cardio. If possible, try to arrange it at least 3 to 4 hrs after your last meal. I personally do mine 3 hrs after dinner and then follow up with a low carb Protein drink about an hour later.

I am not a early riser either, and in the morning if I do cardio I can't achieve the intensity of doing it in the evening 1-2 hours after dinner. In the morning, no matter how hard I try, I can't get into it, and if I do, I just can't seem to break that sweat that makes you feel good.

I agree with krazymatt, whenever I try cardio in the morning I don't feel as good doing it, I usually do it 2-3 hours after dinner, but now my treadmill broke so I don't know what to do.

krazymatt and Selanne the reason that you perform better in the evening is because you have carbs in your body. which means that your body has the energy to perform at a higher intensity.
