Well I just have to say, this challenge has made me realize I am so ready to step up to the next level.

Up until now, my weight training has been simply to stay svelte. And I think I was getting a little bored lately and slacking off, I've even let myself get a little <gasp> out of shape lately.

I've never tried to see how heavy I could lift, never seriously done the power lifts that we are using for this challenge, and I am so excited about going there!! My enthusiasm for the gym has been reignited and I can't wait to see what I can do.

Let the game begin!

I got mine howdie - thanks :)

Had a trainer walk me through heavier deadlifts and squats yesterday... feeling it today!! They are relatively new to me, I usually do lunges with lower weight on the bar and higher reps, and then sumo squat things with a 60 lb dumbbell.

I don't know if I am starting at average or above or below, but I was at least able to put weight on the bar so that's a good thing!

Dani, you will have an advantage in the challange by virtue of not having done these lifts much. I made huge gains the first 6 months I did them. Let the trainer watch your form for a while so you don't develope bad habits. Being new to these lifts may let you skin a Kat or two. Sorry howdie, I couldn't resist.

well well, what have i missed? looks like the garbage man came while i was away...

i just got back into squats after taking 2 months for the knizzle to heal so hopefully i'll have the same luck with the gains - who knows. same thing with deadlifts pretty much, i'm up to 210 for 1 right now but i'm trying to get it up around 275 or so. what do we have, 2 months? no problem...the kat is on the prowl:cool:

and tex i wouldn't worry about that pulled muscle - small tissue heals fast.

Yes, the enthusiasm is contagious around here lately. Team texas is still coming with the funny stuff. Howdie's lift #'s are amazing. I am a little scared. Hope I don't have to fake an injury to save face.:(
