You've just gotta burn more calories than you eat. Very easy way to cut calories is to drink mostly water. Browse around the forums and check out the stickies all kinds of great information ;)

Yep, thats about it, at your age just cut out things like soda (completely), fast foods and/or fatty foods, and sweets, and your body will take care of itself. Try not to eat at night, etc. If you play a sport or something that'll help even more, and faster.

Emily,
I understand how you feel. These two have it right, and I like im....'s idea about water. What you can do: always carry around a bottle of water with you (just fill it up at taps, public water isn't that bad). That way you won't be tempted to buy a soda. Then try cutting back on your food IF you eat too much. You will never starve on 1 helping of food. Don't go back for seconds.
Also, some may disagree, but I think you're old enough to start some cardiovasular workout. By this I mean just running a few laps around the field, or swimming, or taking long walks, or etc...
But remember, the most imprtant thing is eat good. You don't have to eat like Richard Simmons, but like im.... said, cut out ALL fast food (it's junk anyway), and stuff that you KNOW you shouldn't be eating a lot of.
Good luck, and remember to also work on being a better person, not just having a better body.
