I was wondering if there is any alternative excercises i could do (besides dips) if I dont have a decline bench? other excercises that work on the lower pecs.

Do you have a bench at all? If so just put a brick or two under one side and the bench would be declined.......
Dips actually work primairly the upper chest as well.
No sorry, no other great ideas to target the lower chest.

Try this: put your toes on top of the bench while you do push ups on the ground. This gives you the decline effect. If you have a spotter (or a friend), he/she can add more resistance by pushing you down while you do the push ups.
Good luck!

Yes Robert you're right, this is a great push up exercise BUT for the upper chest...... We are trying to target the lower chest (or have I misunderstood anything lewdog?)

For the lower chest just reverse it. Feet on the floor and hands on the bench.

OK. I do have a bench but now i am confused. Which push up works the lower chest?? That is the one i want. I have always thought that feet on the bench was lower. anyone know???

I was wrong. Arms on the bench and feet on the floor is for the lower pecs.

Oh yes you got it Lewdog BUT the prob with this one is it'll be too easy..... SO you'll need to find a way to make it harder to do -like having somebody behind to push you.
