i start my workout program tomorrow and want to know how much weight to use ? i think 40-60% of my max is that about right? then how much do i increase the weight for the next couple reps? 5lbs. a rep? i don't want to cheap my self working out but i also don't want to set myself up for injuries either.any opions helpful and will listen to all advice

Hi vikingchild, the amount of weight is trial and error. You are correct about going light on the first sets. They are warm up. The last set you should barely finish or not quite finish. When you can complete the last set, its time to increase. If you are new to this go easy for a few weeks and then kick it up.
