I'm not sure about a "normal" time. From my experience, I lost 1% in a couple of weeks or so. It's safe to assume that you probably would not want to lose any more than 2-4 pounds per week. You can measure bodyfat by using calipers.

Good luck!

Nope, no measurement for that, as you said yourself, it depends on the person.

One thing though, at that is a never exercising or dieting person that suddenly start will loose a lot faster in the beginning, than people who are use to train and eat healthy.

Secondly, the human body can only loose maximum around 800gr of fat a week, so if you loose more it's water or pure muscle......

It really depends on the person, weight, and how much they are training. I have lost 2% in a two week period and other times only 1% in a couple of weeks.

I have a formula for this; I just need to know your curent weight, body fat%, and what your goal is (desired %BF and weight.)

OK; This is figured if you are now at 17%BF and 165 lbs.
You will need to drop to 149, lose 16 lbs to make 8%BF.
Of course if you build muscle at the same time you lose weight you will not need to lose this much.
