I'm 15, 125 lbs. I just started working out a few weeks ago and I was wondering how many days a week I should workout without over doing it. I usually workout for an hour of lifting. And then carido.:)

i'd say that an hour to start with may be a bit long, you'll have to get someone elses opinion on that. i rteckon the average number of days for working out a week is four to five, use the site resources to get a good split routine going. help?

I'm 19, and just started a new workout. I've been doing it for slightly over a week now. I am working out every day, but doing different exercises. I came up with my plan by myself though, so I'm not sure if its a good workout plan or not. I'm doing Tae-bo on Sunday, Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, & Saturday. I'm also doing ab workouts on Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday. I do leg workouts on Tuesday & Friday. I lift weights on Sunday & Thursday. I really dont know if I'm doing too much, or not enough or whatever. I know this probably didn't help much, but I really dont know the answers to your questions. The moderators might know though, if you could find one of them to answer your question.

There is nothing wrong with training 3x a week as a beginner.
Get used to the equipment, and obtain good form.

In my opinion, it's not the length of the workout but your intensity and form that really matter.

that's true. sometimes it can take longer if you're working out with someone. It just depends. You should focus more on how many exercises/sets you do, not so much how long it takes. You could get 5 exercises with 3 sets each done in about 40 mins.

I think an hour sound good - just listen to your body - try it & see if not then you know to relax more or add to it but just remember to keep your form.
