After how long should there be visible muscle growth?
Im working out 5 times a week, and its 4 months now, i dont see any muscle growth, but im stronger, im 97kg, 187cm, and naturaly preety strong, is that because of this, and should i workout harder? |

Usually growth can be seen around 6-8 weeks. This is assuming that your diet is in order and you are working out properly.

Give us an idea of what kind of workout you are doing. My guess is you are either over-exhausting your muscles without giving them enough rest, and/or your diet is not efficient, and/or you are not reaching "hypetrophy" as bb1 taught me.-------------- What the MIND can imagine, the BODY can achieve. |

This is true, and exactly my point as to the downfall of a workout scheme like Max ot. Though good, you cannot use one type of training and keep growing from it. Your body is made of more than one type muscle fiber, and though the fast twitch fibers have the most potential for growth, neglecting the slow twitch fibers that may make up 1/2 if not more of your muscle fibers, you are neglecting optimal growth potential. I am glad you got this point hombre!-------------- If you don't stand for something, you will fall for anything.... |

Your diet will be the first place to look. You need to intake a surplus of calories, that is an amount over your maintenance calories. Do you know what your maintenance calories are? How did you figure your diet? What does your diet look like? Diet in the end determines how much you get out of your time in the gym. You can work as hard as hell, if you don't eat, it is like not putting enough fuel in your car, will get you there and back, but that is all.-------------- If you don't stand for something, you will fall for anything.... |

Hey, i can not imagine to eat more as i do, im eating 5-7 times a day, i dont eat any fat....i eat 1,5 hour before training, i eat imediatly after training, 3 hours after training, and 20pm, is my last meal.So i dont think its not enough. Also i developed 6kg of something in weeks, but it seems not to be muscles, i dont no, i have 4% body fat, it starts to suck

Maybe it's the type of food that you're eating. Post your typical daily meal along with caloric counts (include protein/carb/fat). What helped me gain weight was food "density." These include potatoes, yams and pasta.-------------- **_Robert_** Pain is temporary; glory is forever! |

try changing ur routine up a lil, try a 4 day split or maybe even a 3 day split so u have mroe time for recovery, if ur ' stuck" then ur body has adapted to ur stimilus.......i do 4 and 5 day work outs in the summer then during cheerleading i do a 3 day work out where i go as hard as i can in a 1 hour and 1/2 tiem atthe most, as fast as hard as i can go.....i stick with the basics lifts, military, bench, cleans, deadlifts, squats i switch over to very few " cut excercises"( flys stuff liek that) during this time i actully gain alot of strength and abotu 5lbs of muscle mass during this time......then i go back to my 4 day split for sumer wheni have more time , may need to try chaging ur diets......hwo many cheat days do u allow? if u only have 4% body fat then u might wanan have a one day cheat day.... i have been reading alot about how cheat days can actualy help u out in the long run for strength and size........-------------- ---andrew.......adversity causes some to break, but others to break records! Well, you were the one who asked the question. If you have the answers, then fix it! You did not post your bodyweight and your calories. If you cannot do this, then this means you do not know what your maintenance calories are, and you are just eating. You have to have a plan to gain. Guesswork will rarely work. If you look hard enough, you can find someone to agree with you, but is that what you really want? Will that get you anywhere? Is it getting you anywhere? Apparently not. I thought you wanted answers/help.-------------- If you don't stand for something, you will fall for anything.... |

No need to be sorry you asked a question. The thing is, you asked a question, and when people tried to help you out, you told them the answer. If you need an answer, learn to listen, and relay your questions, and the help will be forthcoming. You will benefit much more this way.
