Hey guys!

I forgot how much does a reg barbell can weight. 45 pds? 40 pds? If you have a clue just let me know. Cheers,

When using a smith-machine do you still count the bar as 45#? And how much does the smaller one weigh? The one you use for skull-crushers, biceps curls, etc.

Some smith machines are counter-weighted, effectively making the bar almost weightless, while others allow the bar weight to remain. The smaller bars (for curls, etc) can weigh any where from 15-25 pounds. In both instances, the best thing to do is to ask the gym where you workout at, or, in the case of the smaller bar, weigh it yourself.

Thanks rev, there has been some disagreement on that at our gym. I guess that is normal.

I just had this problem too. I thought the bar was 35Lbs, so when I found out it is 45Lbs I got happy cuz it's like I increased by 10Lbs in a day. :)
