Hey all, I have been looking into home gyms, now that I recently bought a house and have a basement to put one in. I went looking at dicks, and was really dissapointed in the quality of there gyms. So I went to G&G fitness a store that sells high end gyms. Anyway they are really nice, but you pay for it. This is the one I am interested in. I love the way it is safe similiar to a Smith Machine but with a pulley system with cables. Here is a link explaining it and showing what it looks like. Has anyone trained on one of these machines, or even seen one? http://www.livefit.com/showroom_internal.php?action=viewBrands&id=40&nav=Home+Gyms

The guys I would listen to around here all recommend you get a bench, freeweights, and a squat cage. Search around and use the fitBuddy search. You can find cages with pulley attachments as well.

I personally don't have a cage, but my rack has catch bars that come out pretty far, so it has some cage-like qualities. But if I were to do it again I would have gotten a full cage.

One more thing, fill out your profile.. it helps people answer your questions if they know more about you and your situation etc. Good luck!

A good thread:

you need a good cage, bench and some freeweights
that`s what I got and I`m very pleased with the purchases..

also make sure you get dip attachements, it`s an awsome exercise
