The hip flexors are a group of muscles that move the hip forward when running and walking.

All of the hip flexors are primarily located on the front of the thigh and hip. There are 6 main muscles involved with hip flexion, so sometimes it can be very difficult to distinguish which of them is actually injured. Symptoms will be associated with actions that move the leg forward or upward.

Freqently a hip flexor strain is the result of an overly forceful contraction. such as during a sprint or a series of sprints. It can also occur with powerful kicks, such as with soccor players.

Helps alot, Ive heard the term used, and really didn't know whereand what exactly.
I'm not injured, its just that Montreal Canadians goaltender got that injury last night.

Mine are actually got pretty damaged in a fall a few years ago. (ballet) It's not a pretty place to get hurt.
