Hip exercises

I was wondering what exercises would be recommended to strengthen my hips. My aerobics class has been cancelled for the summer and we used to do alot of abductions. They killed me because I know my hip muscles are weak. Any suggestions would be great.

Lunges ar eexcellent hip strengtheners, as are lying leg lifts (lie on your side, lift top leg up towards ceiling).

Balancing on one leg will strengthen your hips, try doing oneleg squats, one leg deadlifts, stand on one leg while doing bicep curls, etc.
