I want to thank everyone, including the people who run this site, for the great advice. Following the FT weight loss program, I've lost a little over 70 lbs since January 31st! I was at 330 lbs. Now, I'm just below 260!!!!

I want to continue to lose weight at tone up, but I was getting bored doing the same exercises, so I bought "The Abs Diet" and I've started following the exercise plan found in the book. After one day, it really kicked my butt!! I liked it a lot!

Do you think I'm making a mistake by changing up like this?

P.S. I'm not changing my diet -- just my workout.

Thanks!

wow congrats on losing all the weight! If you arent getting the results that you want from changing the workout you can always go right back to it

Grats davidday! Great to hear. Changing up a workout routine never hurts. Keeps your body guessing. I'm not sure what's involved in "The Abs Diet", however make sure you're not neglecting the rest of your body and the muscle you've built.

You rock, davidday!

A change in workout can be a great catalyst for further results. Just be sure to work as intensely as you have been!

Well, I start my day with 2 multi-vitamins. I also have a two supplements 30 mins-1 hour before every meal. This supplement basically includes chromium, garcinia cambogia extract, guarana, ginseng and some other earthy things. I also take a fat blocker before lunch and dinner and essential fatty acids. And I take Glutamine and Flaxseed.

However, my diet is totally different now. I used to live off fast food. Now, I eat a lot of chicken prepared on my Foreman grill. And I'm at the gym at least 6 times a week.

Right Arm davidday! Thats something to be proud of. Last year I weighed 240 lbs (Jan2004) and lost 65 lbs into (July2004). I feel like a completely different person than I once was. The complements you get from people makes you feel so good, right!? Its truly amazing. Congratualations

I do have a question for you or any other FT members. Seriously, I need some help. Please take time to read..

During that time of when I lost all that weight, I was going through pre-breakup truama with a nieve ex-girlfriend. She put me through hell dude, dragged me by a string and cut it lose off a bridge. I imediately counter-acted an started going to the gym six days a week, cardio for one hour and depriving myself like a cheerleader. I was a reasonable, calm and charming person turned into an obsessive compulsive, diet extremist, dillusional ding-dong.

Now that time has passed, I certainly feel better and have started a new, healthier aproach to working out. When I look at myself in the mirror, all I can see is the strectch marks from my past and the worst part of all: the left over skin that hangs from my stomach and lower back. To me, it is the most unatractive thing possibly imaginable. When I bend or lean over it hangs like a fucking kangaroo pouch or something. I play drums in a band and I have always wanted to take off my shirt and totally rock-out on stage. There is no way in hell I would ever do that with the way my stomach looks now. I was wondering from you if you have had the same problem.
Did your skin contract properly? You lost the weight just as fast as I did (6-7 months), how did you body react? Congrats again amigo,

In my case, what the flip can I do about this situation? If I do strictly ab routines insted of full-body workouts, will my skin contract? Will my strectch marks fade if I lose more weight? SHould I lose more weight or should I gain muscle mass to even out the rest of my body?

I really hope asimmer will reply back to me. She knows her stuff, I read tons of her work on this site and have true respect!!!

Thank you so much..:):):):):):)

im probably wrong here and someone correct me if i am but that is probably fat you still have left to lose. You lose stomach fat last so even though the rest of you is nice and skinny you still might have a bit of a stomach. That happened to me i didnt lose as much weight as you but i got really skinny everywhere but my stomach. You're young so your skin should still be pretty elastic. Again i may be wrong but i think thats whats happening

Loose skin and how it contracts back is partially genetic - the fact that you have stretch marks means you may not have very elastic skin. But, all is not lost!

It can take up to a year for skin to tighten up, according to what I have read. Give it time.

Keep working your entire body, the more mass you gain to fill out your skin, the better you will look when you rock out shirtless (drummers are so cool).

Get a firming lotion, like St Ives or Jergens and use it every day - it may help, i think it made a difference in my loose skin, anyway, it won't hurt.

Ianaker may be partially right - as you get lean your subcutaneous fat gets sort of odd and soupy feeling, so keep up with the eating clean and working out and you should see an improvement as time goes by.

Thanks for the compliment, I am glad you find my knowledge useful!

Thanks a lot ianakers, Much appreachated. It sucks to think even after losing all that weight, I still must lose more to achieve the look and feel I want. My body is at its set point now and I will be hard to change. Do you think I should focus on losing the fat around my belly in swap for muscle by doing a ton of ab work? Or do you think I should just focus on losing more weight over all? I am around 180 now, How much would I have to lose to start flatening my stomach?

Fuck I hate just doing an hour of cardio at the gym..

Is so boring

read your little magazine, and .. whatever...............

Hey ianakers,

After losing the weight did you eventually reach a new level and start noticing changes in you stomach fat?

Tell me what worked best for you, nutrition and dieting?
or
Exercise and fitness?

I know there must be a balance in between the two, but I need a little insight and motivation.

Thank you so much

curtis- switch to HIIT for cardio every other cardio workout and only do 20-30 minutes for the HIIT sessions.

High intensity interval training. Do a fit buddy search. There are quite a few really good posts about it. It does work too.
