I've just recently changed my workout schedule from 3-day split to 5-day split, and it is as follow:
Monday: Chest and Back
Tuesday: Shoulder
Wednesday: Tricep and Bicep
Thursday: Chest and Back
Friday: Shoulder, Tricep and Bicep
Is this too much for a week? Working on a 3-day split seems too little for me, as in I'll easily get slack off. Also, I like to do 3 reps of 20 pushups before I sleep every night hoping that it'll help my pec grow more. Does this help in anyway, or I'm doing more damage?
Thanks!

you could always try a four day split if you are not comfortable with five example:
Monday:Chest and calves
Tuesday:Quads and hams
Wednesday:OFF
Thursday:Back and bis
Friday:Shoulders and tris Good luck

Well, it's not that I'm not comfortable with five day split, just that I'm not sure if I would better spend my time resting in between workouts. I heard that people see results when they do three day split, but I've tried that before for a year and I didn't see a significant change. So now I just want to push myself a little, but I'm not sure if this is the right way to go. Please advise.

A decent 5 day split could be...
Day1 legs/calves
Day2 chest/back
Day3 rest/cardio?abs
Day4 biceps/triceps
day5 shoulders/abs
day6 rest
Day7 start over
Any split like this will work, if you follow it through and have a good diet.
-------------- Great people never want it easier, they just want to be better!

So, is it not desirable to train the same muscle group twice a week? Because I feel like I'm ready to train the same muslce group after about three days. Or am I just not pushing myself enough?

Oh yea, bb1 , when you said "Day7 start over", do you mean Day7 is for rest as well?
