Ok, I'm really new to ft (and to training in general) so any help will be appreciated.

my question is "how do you start a program"?
Do you first do blood flowing things (like jogging, jumping jacks, etc..) or do you stretch first?

then you start doing the muscle building stuff (push ups, sit ups etc) right after you stretch?

can someone plz describe the process plz

thx for your time

I think starting with some light stretching, then a 5 minute aerobic warmup would be cool.

Well, that's what I'm thinking. I know I always stretch (or at least should) before I go running, so stretching before makes sense to me. It's also good to stretch between exercises.

It has been scientifically proven that stretching should not be done before or during exercise, only after. Instead, like lumina mentioned, do some light aerobic activity to get your blood flowing and your heart rate up (5-10 minutes).

Good Luck

Yes don't ever stretch a cold muscle. Run slowly for around 5 mins, do your stretching and then finish your run.

The muscle building stuff?!! lol You mean weight training or just body weight exercises?

Anyway a good thing is to stretch in between the sets (help the muscle get rid of lactid acid and recover faster).

Streching between sets is definitly beneficial. There was an article in Muscle and Fitness recently on just that topic.
