Hi, i am 18 and i hve a hunch in my back. It is not bad and most people dont notice it. It started when i was in grade school and i was always the tallest, and being as shy as i was, i would kinda slouch to blend into the crowd. Well after a while i got really chunky. This didnt help anything and of course with no self confidence i wasnt gonna stand up straight. well anyways 2 summers ago i was 6'0, and 240 pounds, which may not sound huge, but i had no muscles so it was. Well anyway in 4 months i was 160 lbs and looked good, minus the fact my health was suffering and i was looking a lil sickly. But anyway the moral of the story is now i am about where i wanna be in weight...need to get rid of the love handles and lose skin still...but my posture doesnt just fix itself and my back hurts after about 2min of holding it up straight, what can i do? I dont feel like being hunched over a cane later in life.

the sooner the better... once you completely stop growing/developing your pretty much done. Fortunately you're a guy so you have a few more years than us ladies. (P.S. didn't any one notice this when you were growing up and recomend you be checked out?)

I know there are therapeutic excersises and stretching that can be done, but check with a sports thrapist or chiro.

rbi, You could always take buckets of steroids and set up a bed in the gym for a couple of years. Before you can say, "Look mummy, a monster" the rest of your body will be so over developed nobody will notice you ever had a hunch!
Of course it may be easier to take the advice already given and ask a professional backman for his boring doctor advice..
