I have a sedentary lifestyle ( work in an office sitting) drive to and from work, etc.
I weight currently 158 pounds (72 kgs)and am 1,70cm (5ft6in) and just had my 2nd baby 3 months ago, i weighed 60kgs before my first baby (5years ago) and want to try and get back to that weight. ( i used to Work standing all day long and waalked to and from work at the time thats why i was thinner)

As a general rule of thumb, i'd say try and use it 3X per week for 20-40min sessions. It may take you a while to work up to the 20-40min, so just start where you can, say 10min, and gradually increase the time each session or each week. If you really want to get a shapely body back, introduce some wt training into your workouts as well. There are great programs on this site. Good Luck!

flyonthewall; Any ideas on specific weight training routines to help shape up that post-baby belly? I'm in the same boat as CARMEND, and I have no idea how to get back in shape.

The best approach is to do a full body wt routine. You can't really spot reduce, you need to build muscle all over. Having said that, I have also found pilates to be very beneficial in tightening up the core muscles around the abdomen. A great weekly routine is to do cardio 2-3 days/week and wt train 2-3 days per week. Personally, i do wts M,W,F and cardio T,Th,Sat. Have a look at the wt training programs offered on this site...they're free and a great way to get started! I typically focus on big mucle exercises like rows, lat pull downs, pull ups, squats, lunges, push ups, chest presses...then add in some smaller muscle work like bicept curls, tricept kickbacks, calf raises, ab work etc. If all this terminology is foreign to you, check out the fitness glossery or read thru the many threads on this site. Having said all this, and coming from someone who works out a lot..diet is the real key to getting rid of the excess fat. Once the excess fat is gone, if you been working out, the muscle will make you look lean and toned :) Good Luck!
