Gradually Cutting Down Calories

Ok, with my new cutting phase I should be taking in 2500 calories a day, which is probably around 1000 less than I normally take in. Peoplle say that you should just stay at what you have been eating and go down about 250-500 calories every few days or so, why is that?

Yes you should cut calories every few weeks by 250-500(depending on the results... ....by cutting calories too drastically you risk losing a high % of lean muscle mass....also choose your calories wisely since you'll be getting less of them...and I suggest a fish oil supplemenent to help spare muscle mass....
