On monday's and friday's i work out my upper body(pecs,shoulders,arms,upper back)and on wednesdays and sundays i work out my lower body(legs,abs,and lower back).Is it alright to work a muscle twice a week in a split-style routine if i have 96 hours of rest in between the sessions.My goal is to gain muscle mass.thanks for the advice
If your goal is big muscle mass I'll suggest you to only work each muscle group once a week (if you can work them twice, then you don't lift heavy or work "deep" enough, now if you still force to work them a second time, you'll just overtrain...). Why not follow the exercise routine for mass building here at FT?
