OK. I have trouble eating 6 meals a day due to time constraints. I can eat a meal in the morning, a meal at night, and a whey protien and gatorade shake (which was a recommendation BB1 made to someone) after my workouts, but the other meals are hard to do. Even if I brough 4 meals to school/work with me everyday (which is implausible due to lack of refrigeration etc.), there's no time to eat (no food allowed in class or work short of a quick lunch break, which I usually work through). I have given up working out because I know it's a waste of time because I won't be able to eat enough to bring about my desired results, so weight lifting is more or less a waste of time. However, I've invested too much time and research into this to just give up, so I am determined to make it work. Are there any foods that are easy to prepare or buy that are quick to eat and will give me my necessary nutrition? My goal is to aquire a lean, muscular, "cut" physique (six pack and all) (Like Brad Pitt or Eminem or whoever)and to reach my goal by Spring break -which is in April. This gives me 6 months, which I believe should be more than sufficient time. I'm about 6'1" and 190 lbs. I'm guessing I want to add 10-15 lbs. of muscle (that's a guess. I'm unsure of the muscle mass to muscle weight ratio, so 10-15 seems like a good guess.) I have no idea whether or not I should do high weights/low reps or moderate weights/high reps or alternate between the two. There have been many who have helped me by answering my previous posts, and I appreciate it. If anyone can give me some dirction, that'd be great. All responses to this post I am going to print out and tape to a wall in my weight room for motivation. Thanks, everyone!

I carry a insulated cooler to work with an ice pack keps tings cool for 8-10 hrs. I cook on sunday for most of the week. To add muscle you need to eat and lift heavy very simply put. All you need is a hour 3-4 times a week for the weights. If there is a way you will get it done. Never give up...adding 10-15 lbs is very doable.....just goona take some work on your part. Not meaning to be harsh but really you have the time to do this so quit whineing about not enough time and get it done! LOL so what is your shcedule like (times to work school etc? That will help out in making a split for you.

Those insulated, six pack size lunch bags are great for keeping food/snacks cold. You could pack a peanutbutter sandwich, an apple and a couple of string cheese sticks, or some tuna and whole wheat crackers. How about boiled eggs or a half a cup of soynuts? A turkey and lowfat cheese on whole wheat bread sandwich? A whole wheat tortilla wrap chicken breast and lowfat cheese and salsa? There are plenty of things that you can prepare or get ahead of time and have with you. And there are always the meal replacement drinks and bars. Most of those things can be eaten quickly between classes and while you are working through your breaks if they are handy. That is the key.

Hello agian, As Mutt said all you need is 3 good 1 hour sessions per week so dont burn yourself out trying to train everyday. As far as the 4 meals you are missing az ave some very good suggestions, & altough shakes & bars are not the best options they are way better than fasting. Most of all, don't give up no matter what, if you truly want this (as you seem to do by all the effort you have put forth) you will find a way. There is always a way, sometimes it just isn't obvious to us at the time. Good luck & take care!

Trust me, I don't mean to sound like whining. My motivation is at a high. I do have time to exercise, it's the time to eat properly that I find troublesome (and it's not an excuse to keep eating unhealthy because I do eat healthy and have for years- I just don't consume enough calories). I like the food ideas, thanks. You say I should lift heavy. So should I not alternate between high and low? I was thinking about doing this workout where I exercise 6 times a week- 3X heavy/low reps and 3X moderate/ high reps (to simultaneously build muscle and tone it). What do you think?

I would just stick to lifting as heavy as you can keeping as close to perfect form and try to add weight to each lift every week. In my opinion "toning" is a myth you either make muscle and loose fat or you do not.
