gain muscle burn fat at same time?

is it possible to build muscle and lose weight at the same time? If i'm trying to lose weight and i do weightlifting, will this preserve my muscle or cause greater muscle loss?

Both gaining muscle and losing fat (weight) come down to the amount of calories that you are eating for most people. Simply put your body has a maintenance level that it requires on average per day. Eating more than that will aid you in building muscle, eating less with help with losing fat.

You wuold be better off to prioritize your goals, achieve one and then go for the other. Build muscle and then lose some fat, or vice versa.
